New Recreational Fee Discount Policy

As of January 1, 2007, the Corps of Engineers no longer issues Golden Age and Golden Access Cards.

The passage of the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act of 2004 created a new discount program for federal agencies called the "America the Beautiful Interagency Pass Program." This program was implemented January 1, 2007. The current legislation did not authorize the Corps of Engineers full involvement in this new pass program; however, we will honor the "America the Beautiful Senior Pass" (age 62 and older) and the "America the Beautiful Access Pass" (permanent disability) with a 50% reduction of user fees at Corps of Engineers recreation facilities, including day-use and camping fees (excludes group facilities).  The Corps of Engineers is not authorized to sell or otherwise issue passes used for this new program.

The Corps will continue to grant fee discounts to bearers of previously issued Golden Age and Golden Access Cards and holders of the new America the Beautiful Pass.  Our policy is as follows:

a.  A 50% discount of established recreation fees will be provided to visitors 62 years of age and older who present a "Golden Age Card" or "America the Beautiful Interagency Senior Pass" issued by another federal agency.

b.  A 50% discount of established recreation fees will be provided to visitors with permanent disabilities that possess a "Golden Access Card" or a new "America the Beautiful Interagency Access Pass" issued by another federal agency.

The new America the Beautiful Passes can be purchased at most national parks, US Fish and Wildlife offices, US Forest Service offices, Bureau of Reclamation offices and Bureau of Land Management offices that charge fees for recreation.  Visitors inquiring about purchasing these passes should be advised to call these offices to check their availability.  Additional information about the new passes can be viewed online at http://store.usgs.gov/pass/index.html. The new Senior Passes are $10.00 and the new Access Passes are free.

Please note that the America the Beautiful Access and Senior Pass are the only passes that are applicable for the Corps of Engineers.  THE VOLUNTEER PASS AND THE ANNUAL PASS ARE NOT APPLICABLE AT CORPS PROJECTS.  Both passes pertain to entrance fees (at National Park Service and Fish and Wildlife sites) and Standard Amenity Fees (entrance fees at Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management and Bureau of Reclamation sites).  The Corps does not charge entrance fees and consequently we will not accept the Annual or Volunteer Pass.
