Acorn Valley is open May through September and features 29 campsites with gravel pad and electricity and 65 walk-in tent sites, without electricity. It is located on the west side of Saylorville Lake.

Amenities include; drinking water, dump station at entrance station, 1 handicap accessible paved campsite (w/water), flush toilets, showers, playgrounds, hiking trails, and a small pond.

Important Information!

No alcohol.

First come/first serve camping is available on non-reserved campsites. All other reservations must be made at least 2 days in advance.

Campers must be atleast 18 years old to reserve a campsite and must be present during stay.

Gate is closed from 10 PM-6 AM.

Getting There
From I35/80 north of Des Moines: Take Johnston/Saylorville Lake Exit (131) Go north on Merle Hay Rd through Johnston for 2.8 miles. At 4 way stop, turn left on Northwest Beaver Drive for 3.7 miles. At National Weather Service Building, turn right onto Northwest Coryden Drive and turn right into campground.
