HOW TO DO BUSINESS WITH THE CORPS

1. Contact the Corps of Engineers Small Business Office.

2. Discuss your firm's capabilities to determine if there are prime or subcontract opportunities for your company's products or services.

3. We highly recommend you check the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) Web page. The FedBizOpps is a listing of advertised Government acquisitions over $25,000. The FedBizOpps also lists contract awards and is a good source for subcontracting opportunities.
Visit the FedBizOpps on the Internet at www.fedbizopps.gov.

4. View solicitations and bid/propoe/quote on those solicitations which are of interest to your company. You may view and download solicitations on the Internet. To do this go the Distict's home page, click on solicitation information, then click on view/download solicitations.

5. In order to do business with the Corps of Engineers or with the Department of Defense, a company must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR). Register online at www.ccr.gov.

6. we recommend that Small Busenesses register in the Small Business Administration (SBA) Procurement Marketing and Access Network (PRO-Net). PRO-Net is an electronic search engine for Contracting Officers, a marketing tool for Small Businesses, and a link to procurement opportunities as well as other important information for Small Businesses.
Register online at www.pro-net.sba.gov.

7. Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) capabilitiy is required for all companies that do business with the U.S. Government. It is the legally mandated method of payment for all contracts.

8. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) has codes that the U.S. Government uses to identify and classify categories of businesses' products and services. The SBA applies a size standard to each NAICS code. Register online at www.naics.com.
