Food plotLake Red Rock has 4,500 acres of land leased for agricultural purposes. These Ag leases provide over wintering food for the wide variety of wildlife that inhabit the area.

There are 36 species of mammals including several endangered or threatened species. In addition to the great many mammals that call Red Rock home, there are 302 different species of birds. Some of the more rare species include the double-crested cormorants, white pelicans, and osprey.

The Corps utilizes several conservation techniques in effort to maintain this wide variety of birds that inhabit the area. In addition to the many wood duck boxes around the lake the Corps maintains 90 blue bird boxes that fledge as many as 340 birds per year.
