Code Description

Hardware Cyle

From the starting position, a complete operation of the lock gates or valves and a return to the starting postion.

Hardware Operations A hardware operation is the emptying or filling of the lock chamber required by a vessel lockage, a turnback which occurs when the lock is "turned back" empty in order to service a vessel going in the same direction as the previous vessel or a non-vessel lockage (i.e. debris, ice etc.). This refers to valves/pumps as opposed to gate swings.
