| Chambering | Chambering - Calculated time from EOE (End of Entry) to SOE (Start of Exit) less any stoppage time. |
| Delay (Wait) | Delay - The time elapsed from the arrival of a vessel at a lock to the SOL (Start of Lockage). The time spent in queue awaiting lockage. Also known as Wait Time. |
| Entry | Entry - Calculated time from BOS (Bow over Sill) to EOE (End of Entry). |
| Bye | BYE (Bye) -Calculated time from SOE to BYE is the amount of time to tie up the barges to the tow. |
| Exit | Exit - Calculated time from SOE (Start of Exit) to EOL (End of Lockage). |
| Idle | Idle - The time that the lock is not processing vessels and is not in a stoppage condition. (i.e. The between the last vessel's EOL to the next vessel's Arrival Time.) |
| Vessel Processing | Vessel Processing - The time solely dependent on vessel operation (i.e. Approach time plus Entry Time plus Exit time). This time excludes stoppage time. |
| Lock Processing | Lock Processing - The time solely dependent on lock operation, i.e., Chambering Time. This time excludes stoppage time. |
| Total Processing | Total Processing - The time to completely process a vessel through a chamber, i.e., Entry Time plus Chambering Time, plus Exit Time. Total Processing time is the sum of Vessel Processing Time and Lock Processing Time. This time excludes stoppage time. |
